LUCY CONWAY

"where have all the flowers gone?"
This piece is a love letter to the Chicago lakefront parks as precious ‘third spaces,’ or those spaces that exist in the inbetween—not home, not work—that make cities livable. It explores the juxtaposition between natural and gritty urban environments, and those glimpses of the city that peek out from gaps in foliage. The ruching mimics the wind currents that move the lake, while also recalling the appearance of lush greenery against the hardness of the buildings that stand starkly, and omnipresent, in the background.
