Accumulation:

A gradual build up of things—patterns, lengths of fabric, prototypes, etc.—that may appear excessive, disordered, or disposable simply because the tools and byproducts of the design process are themselves eclectic, unruly, and resist easy categorization. In the field of fashion, however, accumulation is not necessarily a failure to discard, but an accomplishment of experimentation and revision.
